How To Get Here

Getting to Simeulue can be challenging since there are less frequent flight options in-and-out of the island.

Currently the only available airlines for flight-route to Simeulue are Wings Air and Susi Air. Both operating small planes, meaning baggage limitations that require “special” flight check-in or other means of transport altogether to transfer your boardbags while you fly directly to Simeulue.

Nias Island is the most well-known island in the vicinity. The flight into Nias is also the most frequent as there are flights everyday, couple of times a day.

Getting your baggages especially surfboards are less risky compared to other islands, meaning: no special need of alternative transport for your baggages.

There are other islands in the vicinity of Nias, getting to those islands can be more tricky. Boraspati can arrange that for you in advance to make sure you have a smooth trip.

Overview

The one-day program is designed for trekkers who either do not wish to spend a night in a jungle camp or do not have more than a day to spare; therefore, the program is made to enhance the opportunity of spotting orangutans (our main attraction) and other wildlife within a single day activity.

Our senior licensed Jungle Rangers will guide you either in a private group or in a group trip, which usually consists of not more than 6 people, unless a special request has been placed for a larger group. This is aimed to achieve the quality of your wildlife encounter.

During the program, we will point out some of the many species of animals, birds and plants or medicinal herbs of those are endemic in the tropical rainforest in this part of Gunung Leuser National Park.

This program is designed to enhance the chances of spotting orangutans, our main attraction, and other wildlife over a more relaxed schedule. With the extra day, you’ll have the opportunity to truly immerse yourself in the tropical rainforest and increase your chances of encountering various species of animals, birds, and plants, including medicinal herbs endemic to Gunung Leuser National Park.

Our senior licensed Jungle Rangers will guide you through this adventure, either in a private group or a small group trip, usually consisting of no more than six people unless a larger group is specially requested. On the first day, you’ll explore the jungle with a focus on wildlife spotting, while the second day offers a more relaxed pace, allowing you to absorb the environment and stay a night at a jungle camp. This extended time in the jungle ensures a richer experience and a higher quality wildlife encounter.

This extended program not only enhances the opportunity to spot orangutans, our main attraction, but also allows for various wildlife encounters, which are almost always guaranteed. With more time spent in the heart of the tropical rainforest, your chances of seeing a wider range of animals, birds, and plants—including those endemic to Gunung Leuser National Park—are significantly increased.

Guided by our senior licensed Jungle Rangers, you’ll explore the jungle in either a private group or a small group trip, typically consisting of no more than six people unless a larger group is requested. Over the three days, you’ll experience the jungle both by day and by night, staying at a jungle camp for two nights. This schedule ensures a richer, more immersive wildlife encounter, giving you ample time to fully appreciate the beauty and diversity of the rainforest.

Weekend Enduro Tour
Route: [tailored] North Sumatra

Overview

Boraspati Sumatran Enduro Dirt Biking Tour is private guided dirt bike riding experience, crafted to cater demands from riders for enduro dirt bike tours on the exotic Sumatran lands.

Our enduro adventures can be done any time all year around. We can organize short tours as well as long tours, even capable to organize longer enduro trips depending on your requests. Half-day tour on weekend takes 6-7 hours, a full one-day tour will take between 8 and 9 hours, all with lunch breaks which are served in the middle of the trail.

Trails can be adjusted as we have alternative routes set for most trails allowing instant decisions to be made to fit the each rider’s skills, fitness levels and style. Our tours are equipped with full logistic back-ups.

Tour Outline

The ride begins at a village graveled ground trails at the outskirt of Medan, only 30 minutes drive away from your hotel. The challenges start at the plantation tracks, up to the soft humus and muddy plantation area.

Before entering the jungle, a crystal clear creek would be a nice SOP for a little cool down as our ride takes place on humid lowlands. Picnic lunch can be set here too.

The tracks on the following day should be more challenging as the route is a rough terrain on colder highlands. All meals provided and accommodation is with hot & cold shower, good fresh meals and free beers!

Tour Outline

For the best riding experience, with single tracks and open dirt jungle trails, there is no other area better than mountain ranges of Toba Vicinity and Samosir Island in the middle of the gigantic volcanic lake.

This trip includes a return air-conditioned van transfer from Medan to Toba and back. There are plenty of excellent mountain trails in Sumatra, no doubts.

Starting and finishing points take place in Tuk-Tuk area, the peninsula at the east coast of Lake Toba, and accommodation on the rest of the riding days takes places at different hotels and a one-time camping.

After being dormant for centuries, Sinabung erupted in 2010 and has since been highly active. The mountain is a magnificent view seen from nearby town/village in Berastagi area.
